Dia do Pai, eu bebo!

À semelhança do dia da Mulher, hoje encontramo-nos no Dia do Pai-Homem.

E como não podia deixar de ser, é dia de brincadeira! Como tal, apresento um vinho especial, que me surpreendeu ainda ontem, Monte Penedo Gordo Reserva 2014

Um ruby com fragrância derivada de especiarias, amêndoa, chocolate e uma doçura perfumada adquirida num estágio de 8 meses em barrica de carvalho francês.

A sua elegância sente-se na boca. A pimenta, o chocolate, as amoras e framboesas maduras, a compota vivem em harmonia, onde cada um realça o sabor do outro. Os taninos, tão equilibrados e macios, fazem a boca parecer seda. Esta sensação mantém-se e pede que a boca se agite.

A minha memória do momento...

A conversa flui, o queijo gouda suaviza e a amêndoa fornece o crepitar ao trincar, envolvida pela serenidade do mar e o frio morno da brisa que faz o mar tornar-se branco e acompanhar o momento.

É um vinho alentejano com características durienses, onde a harmonia entre a madeira e a fruta já lhe valeram o titulo de melhor vinho do Alentejo.

Outra graça deste vinho é a vindima ser realizada de noite, para que as uvas se mantenham frescas e equilibradas até chegar à adega.

As castas deste vinho são Alicante Bouschet, muito presente no aroma e no sabor, Touriga Nacional e Syrah.

Com fluidez, suavemente, faço crepitar um brinde.

Um bom dia do Pai!

Like Women’s Day, today we find ourselves celebrating Father’s Day—the men’s one.

And, naturally, it’s a day for having fun! So I’m presenting a special wine that surprised me only yesterday: Monte Penedo Gordo Reserva 2014.

A ruby wine with a fragrance of spices, almond and chocolate, together with a perfumed sweetness acquired through 8 months of ageing in French oak barrels.

Its elegance can be felt on the palate. Pepper, chocolate, ripe blackberries and raspberries, and jam live together in harmony, each one enhancing the flavour of the others. The tannins, so balanced and soft, make the mouth feel like silk. This sensation lingers and invites the palate to stir.

My memory of the moment…

Conversation flows, the gouda cheese softens everything, and the almond provides a satisfying crunch, wrapped in the serenity of the sea and the warm chill of the breeze that turns the sea white and keeps it company in the moment.

It is an Alentejo wine with duriense characteristics, where the harmony between oak and fruit has already earned it the title of best wine in Alentejo.

Another charming feature of this wine is that the grapes are harvested at night, so they remain fresh and balanced until they reach the winery.

The grape varieties in this wine are Alicante Bouschet, very present in both aroma and flavour, Touriga Nacional and Syrah.

Smoothly, gently, I raise a crackling toast.
